Project Description

Emma Hoyhtya is the Founder and Owner of Mosaic Performing Arts. This is a brand new company dedicated to empower students through performance. ‍I was fortunate enough to be commissioned by Miss Hoyhtya to create the company's logo and header image for their website.‍Firstly, I got a little background on the company's mission and goals. The company seeks to give students a high quality education in musical and theater production. Through this education, they will embrace their creativity while enhancing their skills and confidence on and off stage. ‍Then, I asked Miss Hoyhtya if she had any specific design guidelines she wanted me to follow. She wanted a stained glass motif featured in the logo, a hexagonal pattern, and a general color palette consisting of blues, reds, and yellows. Besides that, I was given a lot of creative freedom to interpret her vision and deliver a stellar design. ‍I iterated on the design over the course of the week, going back and forth with the client to make sure I was meeting her expectations. I want to make sure I have creative freedom while also ensuring my clients have a say in the final product. ‍In the end, we settled on two logo designs to be used on slightly different projects, along with a stained glass inspired hexagonal header that Miss Hoyhtya can use on the website as she sees fit. I was so grateful to be given an opportunity to help a company develop its visual identity so early in its history. I can't wait to see what Mosaic Performing Arts does next.
